Historical reminder "Our Principalissima Patroness" 2018Presso Cala Marina re-enactment of â  prodigious intervention of Maria SS. del Soccorso in favor of the city of Castellammare.

Cultural and religious historical representation of the incident occurring on 13 July 1718, at the time of the clashes between Philip V King of Spain and Amedeo of Savoy for the possession of Sicily.
A Spanish cargo chased by British ships took refuge under the Castle and initiate attacks, frightened citizens calling for Madonna, who appears out of the Mount of â scale followed by a host of angels descending to the â Marina.

This vision will scare the British who leave the surrounding waters. Usually the Festival is held on July 13, the anniversary date, at la Cala Marina Castellammare del Golfo, this year (2018) the date is TBD, check.
